According to the top two most visited galleries (the Louvre and Group 4 Exhibit), there is about a 1:48 ratio between attendance at physical and virtual art museums. This shows that Artsteps has a long way to go in comparison to the most famous physical art museums in the world.

I will be touring the most popular exhibition on the Artsteps platform as a complete observer. The ‘Group 4 Exhibit’ was published two years ago by seven high school students in an art class. Viewing this gallery as a complete observer will allow me to observe the art and learn about the artists without any personal interaction or bias. It is easy to navigate artists’ exhibitions using the back-and-forth arrows and changing your perspective of the space. Artsteps provides users with in-depth analytics and insights about their exhibitions to help them better understand their audience and evaluate their galleries’ success.
Conclusion
Significant Findings Within the “Group 4 Exhibition”
The architecture and design of the gallery’s interior made my experience feel very real and captivating. I enjoyed the setup of the exhibition, which required observing the artwork first; detailed information was just a click away. The works were clear and organized in the space in a fresh manner. However, I encountered some technical glitches while changing perspectives during the tour. Moving the mouse to view the works often caused buffering and empty white areas to appear. Despite these issues, most of my experience was positive, and I enjoyed learning about the lives of the art students in Group 4.
The Artsteps community is important because it recognizes that digital art is creating more opportunities for artistic learning and growth. The community does not adhere to a standard definition of a ‘successful’ exhibit and supports artists of all abilities.
So can Artsteps transform the art world?
I would say yes
Artsteps can transform the art world by expanding what it means to be an “artist.” While the traditional art world may favor historic works and aesthetically pleasing art, Artsteps acknowledges that the most important work is what is created by the user. Whether that work consists of your family’s old photographs or your research on wildlife, it deserves to have its story told. Museums often favor traditional mediums such as sculpture and painting, but the Artsteps community is broadening the appeal of different forms of digital art. Joining the Artsteps community will teach artists not only how to create digital art but also how to build and curate successful and influential exhibitions.
